The Idle Foundation is a collection of individuals who believe that there is more to life than the 9-5, mortgages, hire purchase and shopping at Tesco. This group is open to: eccentrics, thinkers, creatives, musicians, collaborators, dreamers everywhere. "supporting a rejection of traditional 'job' and 'career' aspirations and a tendency to eschew capitalism, supporting and nurturing the desire to think and create in a free and unconventional way". We also have probably the friendliest and most supportive community of freethinking people on the internet. Join in and help build a happier society and planet together! The Idle Foundation is currently an unincorporated Association, which allows us to pursue our goals without getting involved in bureaucracy or compromising the non-hierarchical nature of the organisation. We are governed (after a fashion) by the Idle Manifesto, but nothing is set in stone and we urge new members to join us and make their views felt. We are staffed entirely by volunteers and we are constantly on the lookout for people with skills, time and experience that they can offer to the Foundation. There is currently no mandatory membership subscription but all members are encouraged to contribute to the running of the organisation in whatever way they can.
