Many of us on the forum have pets. Dead and I have cats. Livered, Tinker, and Annie have dogs. Lemsip has birds, Bear a Rabbit, Plum has Evil. There are probably a lot more out there. And even those that don't have them may want them: Ms. A, and Sleepy have expressed a desire to have a cat.

References to and stories about various cats and dogs etc, pop up with regularity in first one thread and then another.

However I am sure that there are those idlers who could do with out the animal tales.

Thus this thread, where idlers who like animals can post their pet related posts and read others while those without interest can just avoid the whole thread.

I went into a pet shop this afternoon to buy litter for our cats and ferrets. Pet shops can be very dangerous places for me. I have to steel myself because there is always that one animal that will catch my eye and go into its "Aren't I the most wonderful kitten/puppy/ferret/parrot/rabbit etc. you've ever seen...PLEASE get me the hell out of here!" routine, which I'm always a sucker for. Not that I ever buy one. We have enough animals (2 cats and 2 ferrets)-- all of them rescues.

Today there was this ferret--in a cage at eye level---who was working it like a starving an actor auditioning for that BIG part, or, given the little guy's desperation, maybe as hard as a crack whore in bad need of a fix. But I perservered, bought the litter and left.

I do hope someone buys him soon though. The poor thing wanted out of there so bad.

I don't think I've ever seen a ferret in a pet shop over here. I like ferrets, I think they are cute.

not one of my more interesting posts, but thought I'd say it anyway

Perhaps when Bunny goes to the big hutch in the sky, you should get a ferret? They are a lot of fun.

(Though also a fair amount of bother)

I might take a break from having a pet when she dies. I need a break from vets bills.

Not so bad as the vet's bills for an Evil though by a long chalk Bear.Plum was telling me she's thinking of having him 'done' to calm him down and stop him spraying everywhere.Must be a nightmare.

She really should have considered Evil Insurance, I'm sure it would have been more economical in the long run.

For all the cat and dog friends, a wonderful site that makes me smile almost every day. Look for the daily strip. I have chosen the comfortable daily strip mail to keep in touch with Earl and Mooch and their adorable friends.

P.S.: I am servant to two lovely cats, too.

Thanks Dev, great comic. I'll have to keep an eye on it.

Finn the cat is currently sitting here on the desk at my elbow, making sure I don't do anything foolish like get back to work.

I have a cat and I think cats have a certain 'idle' elegance about them. They sleep most of the day, eat a little, play a little and then sleep some more. I often wish I was a cat. Here is a comic for you;

Urban, I feel the same way. They bring the art of the nap to a truely spirtual level!

Here is a pic of our cat Finn on the beach this evening:
