To-day I saw some Snowdrops,and a Stoat running across the road.

A stoat? Excellent!

Yes I thought so too. It was almost white (ermine?) winter coat. It scuttled across a main road at Boscombe Down near Salisbury. I am pleased he lived to tell the tale.

What's the difference between a stoat and a weasel?

What I took to be a brother and sister aged about seven racing their bikes on the path, side by side, they got a wobble on, bumped each other and brother ended up in a heap on the floor, with dirtied hands and wailing like a girl. I picked up his bike for him and told him he was a disgrace! Losing to a girl

.. and they say there is no community spirit in Britain today.
