TOPIC: Twitter: splendid idea or complete bollocks?

Re: Twitter: splendid idea or complete bollocks? 2 years 8 months ago #207610

Personally, I think it's nobody's business where I am and what I am doing.
And I have no interest on what others are doing at what time and where.
I don't understand the charm of it at all.

Anyway, this is what my tweets would mostly be like:
- at home, in bed reading
- still at home, making tea
- at home, doing a bit of work
- at home, in bed, about to fall asleep

Mine.

'Is bloody cold'

'Has just pumped his bike tyre up'

'Is enjoying a fertile bout of flatulence'

- waiting for the train
- still waiting for the train
- walking home coz the train don't come

I hate the way that online newspapers (the Guardian at least; I don't know if other online news sites exist)have started quoting verbatim from people's Twitter feeds, complete with spelling and grammar mistakes.

Just lazy journalism, if you ask me (you did ask, didn't you??).

If they can't spell, it's probably worth paraphrasing rather than kwoting. Or just ignoring.

It has its risks....what happened to this chap as a result of a joke remark is scary.

I do feel that people seem to have forgotten what a joke is nowadays.

Seriously?
If there’s a future, it won’t be because of big organisations, the church or movements, but tens of thousands of little miracles and little efforts.
